My new series, RITUAL, will guide you in cultivating transformative methods that bring intention into your everyday—helping you to pause, savor, and indulge in the moments often lost in the rush of routine.
These practices are likely ones you’re already familiar with, but if not, I’ve designed them intuitively, to be easily woven into your daily, weekly, or monthly rhythms. The aim being to transform tasks and to do’s into daily practice— to cultivate a lifestyle you love. Today, we focus on transforming a simple bath into a sacred act of self-care.
The Why
✨ Prepares nervous system for sleep
✨ Resets the mind
✨ Relaxes the senses
The Ritual
Imagine the feeling in your head: warm water lapping against wet skin, softening tight muscles, unspooling the stresses of the day, carrying them away as the water swirls down the drain. Warmed to your core, you slip into silky pajamas and a cocoon of cotton sheets, completely relaxed and ready to surrender to sleep's rejuvenating embrace.
A bath is my most sacred ritual and therefore, makes sense as the first in this series. A tradition of purification— it is a cleansing of the mind and body; the perfect antidote for an unregulated system and overstimulated soul.
PRE BATH
For a perfect bath you’ll need to gather some necessities. I’ve done the research and curated a list of items I can’t live without.
The formula is fail proof— candle, body oils, facial oils, and skin tools instantly elevate the space. Arrange products neatly on a counter tray or a bath caddy. Don’t overcomplicate.
You’ll want to prep the skin for bathing. I prefer to dry brush, but in the case you prefer body Gua Sha (or like to mix the two), i’ve included both.
I swear by this specific body oil from Éminence. It’s organic, hydrating, and smells divine— similar to the addicting scent of Crown Affair (if you know, you know
).For the face, I only Gua Sha. The Furtuna Biphase Moisturizing Oil is deeply hydrating and glides beautifully with this Jade Gua Sha.
Simple Gua Sha Guide for Face and Body
(Elevate your technique—whether Gua Sha or dry brushing.)
Face:
Cheeks: Glide outward from the center of your face toward your cheekbones. Keep strokes light and avoid tugging delicate skin.
Temples & Forehead: Start at the temples, gliding upward toward the scalp. Across the forehead, always move upward toward the hairline.
Neck: Glide the tool upward from the base of the neck to the chin in smooth, gentle strokes.
Body:
Legs: Glide upward from ankles to thighs in long, firm strokes.
Arms: Start at wrists and work upward toward shoulders.
Back & Shoulders: Sweep outward from the spine to release tension.
Stomach: Use gentle, clockwise circular motions to follow digestion.
Always work toward your heart to support circulation and lymphatic drainage. Pressure should be firm but comfortable—it’s about flow, not force.
Lastly, prepare the space. This candle from Flamingo Estate smells like the remnants of a seance— in the most luxurious way. Light, then slip into your nude suit.
IN BATH
The options for in-bath are endless, but I’ve narrowed it down to an excellent starting place—whether you’re new to baths or looking to switch things up. Select a bath salt or oil based on your needs. For dehydrated skin, Susanne Kaufmann’s bath oil is a solid choice with ylang ylang, lavender, and patchouli— classic spa in a bottle. For something detoxifying, the Sea Soak from Primally Pure is ideal. Packed with sea minerals, blue algae, and clays, it’s perfect for a long, restorative soak.
Before stepping in, coat your hair with a deeply hydrating mask— the kind you use a few times a month. Sisley has a great one— in balm form. Of course, I’m partial to Crown Affair’s formulas.
Then, swipe a mask across your face, neck, and décolleté. A bath is a great place to product multitask! My personal preference is the Phytoactive Hydra-Firm Intense Mask from Royal Fern for when my skin is parched. For those acne-prone or in need of a resurface, The Honey Mud is tried and true.
Now, relax— for at least 20 minutes, longer if you’re a seasoned professional. Use this time to focus on deep breathing, activating your parasympathetic nervous system for true relaxation.
As a final touch before drying, gently exfoliate to slough off any dead skin after soaking. I like this invigorating peppermint one or this— both excellent options.
POST BATH
The moments immediately after bathing are crucial for locking in moisture. Gently pat your skin dry, then apply a nourishing product to protect your skin barrier and provide deep hydration.
For me, Nécessaire’s The Body Lotion is the ideal consistency—most of the time. In winter, I prefer something more indulgent, like The Daily Stone or Manuka Rich Cream, both perfect for an extra dose of luxury. For an added layer of rejuvenation, I recommend Supercloud+ Body Serum. It’s lightweight and layers beautifully under your favorite moisturizer.
Finally, cozy up in a 100% cotton bathrobe, either of these will do— patterned or cream for everyday.
Enjoy! Xoxo

Rituals aren’t just routines—they’re acts of devotion. To yourself. To the moment. To the life you’re quietly crafting. Step into the space you’ve created, where care becomes art, and thoughtfulness erases the monotony of the everyday. Remember—when you care for yourself, you create space to truly show up for others.
You should definitely try the OSEA undaria body oil that’s my favorite🌊it’s got a citrus scent and is not greasy feeling, also their body butter is wonderful
Love these recommendations!! Definitely trying the Eminence Oil because I adore the crown affair scent <3
