My pajamas haven’t always been chic or luxurious. I used to wear my dad’s old T-shirts, borrowed after a weekend visit home, or a rotation of mismatched sets I’d collected over time. But I’ve learned that going to sleep and waking up in something high-quality, comfortable, and beautiful does wonders for my psyche. There’s something about a nightgown that feels effortlessly put together. I’m not rummaging for matching bottoms lost in the laundry. I’m not doing anything, really. The femininity of a dress—the frills, the lace—does all the heavy lifting.
I’m always drawn to a nightgown with at least one standout detail—maybe a collar, a bit of ruching, a sweet pattern, embroidery, eyelet, or lace. Anything that makes it feel just a little extra special.

And if you’re looking for a nightgown that doesn’t scream Victorian ghost but make it frumpy, let me point you to Harling Ross Anton's new line of nightgowns that are equal parts elegant and effortless. Think: lightweight cotton, poetic silhouettes, and the kind of details (lace trims, ribbon ties, a non-clingy drape) that make you feel like you have your life together even if you’re still deciding what to make for dinner. They’re proof that one piece really can do it all—sleepwear, lounge look, or farmer’s market uniform. These are two of my favorites from the collection.
What I prefer on most nights is something a tad longer. I get really really cold (even in Texas). What shouldn’t come as a surprise, is just how breathable yet warm these long nightgowns are. They’re like my favorite pair of cotton sheets. As someone quite claustrophobic and prone to itchiness, the weightless fabric is non-irritating, and doesn’t sit flush against the skin. Hugely helpful! I also can’t help but be drawn to a frilly sleeve. Petite Plum just dropped their Heirloom Collection. I just got engaged and I think one of their long nighties could be the perfect day-of getting ready frock.

One of my all time favorite pajama brands is THE GREAT. who has a plethora of gorgeous, minimal pajamas with tiny details. This sleeveless option feels weightless.

As someone still in the old t-shirt phase, I think I might be convinced to buy a nightgown. These look so chic and comfortable!
I love love love a pj set but this is giving me major encouragement to try a cotton nightgown
